The View menu

Every item in View, item by item: the zoom commands, Camera View, the grid and guide overlays, Onion Skinning and the Pre/Post Behaviors gutter.

This page has not been translated into your language yet, so you are reading the English original.

View is the fifth of the seven menus along the top: File, Edit, Layer, Object, View, Window, Help. Everything in it changes how the canvas is shown, never the artwork itself: nothing here shows up in an export.

Zoom

ItemKeyWhat it does
Zoom InCtrl+=Zooms in one step of 1.25x, up to a ceiling of 32x (3200%)
Zoom OutCtrl+-Zooms out one step of 1.25x, down to a floor of 0.05x (5%)
Zoom 100%Ctrl+1Sets the zoom to exactly 100%
Fit CanvasCtrl+0Fits the whole canvas in the window, and also resets any view rotation back to zero
These four are the keyboard-first way to zoom. The zoom box above the canvas, the mouse wheel, pinch gestures and view rotation all live in Moving around the canvas.

Camera View

Camera View switches the canvas to show exactly what the scene camera frames, instead of the full working area. Panning and zooming turn themselves off while it is on. Move the camera itself to reframe the shot. See Camera.

Grid and guides

ItemDefaultWhat it does
Show GridOffShows the canvas grid
Grid on TopOffDraws the grid over your artwork instead of under it. Disabled unless Show Grid is on
Center CrossOnMarks the centre of the canvas with a small cross
Rule of ThirdsOffOverlays a 3x3 grid dividing the canvas into thirds, the classic composition guide
Golden RatioOffOverlays a golden-ratio grid instead of an even one
Safe AreaOffOutlines the canvas at 90% of its size, the traditional broadcast safe-area boundary

Rule of Thirds, Golden Ratio and Safe Area live together under a Guides submenu. All three can be on at once.

Show Grid, Center Cross and the three guide overlays are the same switches as Preferences ▸ Grid & Guides: turning one on or off changes the other, because they are the same setting shown in two places.
The View menu open, with the Guides submenu showing Rule of Thirds, Golden Ratio and Safe Area.

Onion Skinning

Onion Skinning ghosts nearby frames on the canvas so you can draw or pose against what came before and after. It is off by default and shares its key, O, with the button in the Timeline toolbar. See Onion skin for the offset bar, opacity and per-layer overrides.

O Toggle Onion Skinning

Show Pre & Post Behaviors

Off by default, this shows the small Pre-Behaviour and Post-Behaviour icons in the Timeline's left gutter and past the last frame of every row. Turn it off to hide both icons on every row and reclaim a little width. See Pre/Post behaviour for what the icons themselves mean.

This one toggle does not add a step to Undo History: flipping it is not something Ctrl+Z reverses.
