Keyboard shortcuts

The moves you'll reach for a hundred times a day. Learn a handful and you'll fly.

Single letters pick a tool; the ones with Ctrl do the big stuff like save and undo. On a Mac, just swap Ctrl for ⌘ — everything else is identical.

Files & projects

• Ctrl+N — Start a new project
• Ctrl+O — Open a project
• Ctrl+W — Close the current tab
• Ctrl+S — Save
• Ctrl+Shift+S — Save a copy under a new name

Editing

• Ctrl+Z — Undo
• Ctrl+Shift+Z — Redo
• Ctrl+X — Cut
• Ctrl+C — Copy
• Ctrl+V — Paste
• Ctrl+J — Duplicate the selection
• Delete — Delete the selection
• Ctrl+, — Open Preferences

Select & arrange

• Ctrl+A — Select everything
• Ctrl+D — Drop the selection
• Ctrl+Shift+I — Invert the selection
• Ctrl+G — Group
• Ctrl+Shift+G — Ungroup
• Ctrl+] · Ctrl+[ — Move one step forward / back in the stack
• Ctrl+Shift+] · Ctrl+Shift+[ — Jump to the very front / very back

Animation & playback

• Space — Play / stop
• Tab — Flip between Edit and Animate
• , · . — Step to the previous / next frame
• O — Toggle onion skinning

View & zoom

• Ctrl+= · Ctrl+- — Zoom in / out
• Ctrl+1 — Jump back to 100%
• Ctrl+0 — Fit the canvas to the window

Tools

• D — Brush
• E — Eraser
• K — Fill bucket
• G — Gradient
• I — Eyedropper
• M — Shape tools (press again to cycle)
• B — Bone
• W — Weight paint
• C — Camera
• H — Hand (pan the canvas)
• R — Rotate the view
• Y — Marquee select
